Governor Andra Prohibits Banten Provincial Government Civil Servants from Using Official Cars for Mudik
Governor Andra Soni has banned civil servants (ASN) within the Banten Provincial Government from mudik during the Lebaran holidays using official cars. He said official vehicles are only to be used for work purposes. “Do not use them for mudik. They are only for official duties,” Andra Soni said on Thursday (5 March 2026). “So, it’s not allowed. It has never been allowed,” he added.
Previously, Andra issued Circular Letter (SE) Number 5 of 2026 on Prevention of Corruption and Control of Gratification Related to Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. In the SE, ASN of the Banten Provincial Government were barred from using official facilities for personal needs. He emphasised that official facilities are used for matters related to kedinasan (official duties).
“Official facilities are used solely for matters related to official duties,” Andra wrote in the SE.
Civil Servants Prohibited from Receiving Parcels
The SE sets out that ASN should avoid gratuities during Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. ASN are prohibited from receiving gifts in the form of money, items, or services connected to their duties.
“The Civil Servants of the Banten Provincial Government are prohibited from receiving gratification in the form of money, parcels/gifts, facilities, and any other form of gift connected to the position and contrary to their duties, including requests for funds and/or gifts as Hari Raya allowances or by another label, whether personally or in the name of the institution to the community, companies, and/or other Civil Servants, whether written or not,” Andra wrote.
He said that ASN who receive gratification related to their office must report to the KPK through the Gratification Control Unit (UPG) of the Banten Province, under the auspices of the Regional Inspectorate of the Banten Province. They are given a 30-working-day deadline from the date of receipt of the gratification.
“With regard to gratification received in the form of perishable food parcels and/or those that may expire, such gifts may be channelled as social assistance, including to orphanages, nursing homes, or other recipients after coordinating with the Gratification Control Unit (UPG) of the Banten Province, accompanied by explanations and documentation of the handover,” he said.
