Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi has requested the Pekalongan Regency Government to continue optimising public services to the community, amid the dynamics currently unfolding in the region.

“Maintain government stability and ensure that public services continue to run well, despite the current dynamics being faced,” Luthfi said whilst providing guidance to the Pekalongan Regency Government officials at the District Secretariat Auditorium on Monday (9 March).

He emphasised that the dynamics occurring in Pekalongan Regency must not disrupt government operations, particularly public services.

Luthfi also requested that responses to community complaints be expedited. According to him, various issues raised by the community must be addressed promptly, so that public services are genuinely felt by the people.

“The speed of response to community complaints must be improved, to avoid public complaints,” he said.

During the occasion, Luthfi also requested that coordination be strengthened with various parties, especially as the Deputy Regent of Pekalongan, Sukirman, has been appointed as acting regent.

“I entrust Pak Kirman as Acting Regent. There should be no differentiation, this person is this, that person is that. We must act the same way; what matters is that he must be professional and clear,” he stressed.

This relates particularly to policies in the areas of organisation, staffing, and management of the regional budget.

Additionally, the local government was also asked to strengthen coordination with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) to maintain conduciveness in the region and ensure government stability in Pekalongan Regency.

As background, Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi previously issued an assignment letter to Pekalongan Deputy Regent Sukirman to execute the duties and authority of regent. The assignment is outlined in the governor’s letter dated 5 March 2026, following the current Pekalongan Regent who is currently in detention.
