Governor Ahmad Luthfi Inaugurates Rp480.6 Billion Chinese Investment in Kendal SEZ
Amid global economic uncertainty and geopolitical dynamics, high-tech Chinese printing company PT DKV Printing Indonesia officially commenced operations in the Kendal Special Economic Zone (KEK) on Tuesday (21/7/2026). The company has invested Rp480.64 billion and has absorbed approximately 500 local workers. The operational launch was conducted directly by Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi, who assessed that the new investment demonstrates high global investor confidence in the province’s business climate. “Amid world geopolitics, Central Java is still trusted for investment. As Governor of Central Java, I express my gratitude. Today PT DKV Printing Indonesia officially operates,” said Ahmad Luthfi. PT DKV Printing Indonesia is engaged in high-tech printing with various products, ranging from labels, packaging, and shoe boxes to various printing materials used by a number of international brands. Luthfi stated that the success of attracting investment is not only measured by the amount of capital entering, but also by the benefits felt by the community. Therefore, the Central Java Provincial Government continues to encourage investment that can create jobs, improve the quality of human resources, and bring technology transfer. “This investment not only brings capital to Central Java, but also brings technology transfer and improves the quality of human resources,” he said. He explained that developing technology-based industries is one strategy to strengthen the competitiveness of Central Java’s industry while increasing the long-term productivity of the manufacturing sector. During a dialogue with company management, Luthfi received a report that PT DKV Printing Indonesia’s operations currently involve around 500 workers, the majority of whom come from the surrounding community. Luthfi noted that this labour absorption is an indicator that investment can have a direct impact on improving community welfare. “The government will continue to encourage investment that is not only large in value, but also capable of creating jobs, improving workforce skills, and strengthening the regional industrial structure,” he said. Luthfi added that Central Java remains one of the main investment destinations for various countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, China, South Korea, and others. This investor confidence, he said, is supported by various factors, ranging from a conducive investment climate, ease of licensing, continuously developing infrastructure, legal certainty, to the availability of a competent workforce. “Central Java is one of the provinces that has competitiveness, regarding both labour and investment in Indonesia,” he stressed. On the same occasion, Governor Ahmad Luthfi also inaugurated the operations of PT Foodindo Dwivestamas, a processed food and culinary industry company with Domestic Investment (PMDN) status. The company invested Rp249.31 billion and has absorbed 150 workers. With the entry of these two new investments, the total investment value inaugurated in the Kendal SEK reached Rp729.95 billion with the absorption of around 650 workers. The presence of PT DKV Printing Indonesia and PT Foodindo Dwivestamas further strengthens the position of the Kendal Special Economic Zone as a national industrial growth centre. In addition to enhancing the competitiveness of the manufacturing sector, these investments are also expected to open more job opportunities, accelerate technology transfer, and drive sustainable economic growth in Central Java.
