The government has worked hard to anticipate and ensure all homecoming activities proceed well and smoothly, according to a statement made at a Full Cabinet Session led by President Prabowo, according to an official from the Defence Ministry in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The government continues to undertake various efforts to ensure the homecoming flow and associated activities can proceed smoothly amid increased public mobility at the end of Ramadan. The government acknowledges several on-the-ground constraints, including vehicle congestion due to high traffic volumes at the Ketapang-Gilimanuk crossing.

In response, officials have apologised for the congestion caused by extraordinary traffic at the Ketapang-Gilimanuk crossing and stated that monitoring continues intensively. Field officers are working to find solutions to reduce congestion and queues.

President Prabowo Subianto, when opening the Full Cabinet Session at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday (13 March), requested that Eid preparations be finalised. In his address, he outlined several matters related to the 2026 Eid homecoming travel.

“First, I ask the Minister of Transport to ensure that discount price policies can be implemented as well as possible, including discounts on airplane tickets, trains, ships and toll roads, and ensure good service at every location,” said Prabowo.

The President also requested the Commander of the Armed Forces and the National Police Chief to mobilise TNI and police resources to facilitate smooth homecoming travel.

To the Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf, he requested additional food assistance for 36 million families receiving benefits in welfare deciles 1, 2, 3 and 4 to proceed smoothly. Prabowo also requested that regular social assistance be distributed on time.

From an employment perspective, Prabowo emphasised that the provision of Eid allowances (THR) for central and regional civil servants be disbursed on time. Eid bonuses for online transport sector workers also received special attention from Prabowo.

“Eid bonuses for online transport workers—ensure that what we have determined reaches them, namely between 400,000 and 1.6 million rupiah per person. We are also grateful that in our government, online drivers now receive Eid bonuses,” said the President.

Regarding food availability, Prabowo requested that the Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, the Minister of Trade Budi Santoso and the Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman ensure stable and safe food supply so that prices remain stable.

The Head of State hopes that this year’s homecoming travel can proceed safely and smoothly and revitalise all economic sectors.
