Government Vows All Parties in MBG Corruption Case Will Be Prosecuted
The Head of the Indonesian Government Communications Agency (Bakom), Muhammad Qodari, stated that the alleged involvement of active TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) personnel and the designation of an active police officer as a suspect in the corruption case involving the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme demonstrates that the law is being enforced without bias.
Speaking in Jakarta on Saturday, Qodari emphasised that the legal process regarding the alleged corruption in the management of the MBG programme within the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for the 2025–2026 period is currently being processed by the Attorney General’s Office.
“As the President has stated, the law is now being enforced without regard to background,” Qodari told reporters. He stated that the ongoing legal process will not consider the origin or background of the suspects, but rather the activities they performed while working within the scope of the BGN.
“It is not because of their background as police or non-police, but because of the issues that occurred while they were assigned to the location where the case took place, namely the BGN,” he added.
In relation to this, Qodari requested all parties to await the ongoing legal process and future developments. Previously, the Attorney General’s Office announced the discovery of alleged involvement by active TNI personnel in the MBG programme management corruption case.
The Director of Investigation for the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, stated in Jakarta on Thursday that the TNI member, identified by the initials BU, serves as the Secretary of the Deputy for Provision and Distribution at the BGN.
Furthermore, the Attorney General’s Office has previously named an active Polri (National Police) member, identified by the initials LMI, as a suspect in the alleged corruption case. LMI previously served as the Secretary of the Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation at the BGN.
