Government Vows All Parties in MBG Corruption Case Will Be Prosecuted

Head of the Government Communication Body (Bakom) Muhammad Qodari stated that the alleged involvement of an active Indonesian Military (TNI) soldier and the naming of an active police officer as a suspect in the corruption case concerning the management of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme shows that the law is being enforced without discrimination. Speaking after opening an inter-media sports competition in Jakarta on Saturday, Qodari emphasised that the legal process regarding the alleged corruption in MBG governance at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for the 2025–2026 period is ongoing at the Attorney General’s Office. “As the President has said, the law is now being enforced without pandering to anyone’s background,” Qodari told reporters. He stated that the legal process does not consider the origin or background of the suspects, but rather the activities they carried out while working within the scope of the BGN. He urged all parties to wait for the legal process and future developments. Previously, the Attorney General’s Office announced the discovery of the alleged involvement of an active TNI soldier in the case. The Director of Investigation at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, said on Thursday that the TNI member, identified by the initials BU, served as the Secretary of the Deputy for Provision and Distribution at BGN. The Attorney General’s Office had also previously named an active police officer, identified as LMI, who served as Secretary of the Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation at BGN, as a suspect in the same case.
