JAKARTA — The Government has urged pilgrims to postpone their umrah departures until conditions return to normal following strikes carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran on Saturday, 28 January 2026.

Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Wamenhaj) Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak stated that the advisory was issued as an effort to ensure the safety of all Indonesian citizens.

The Government has also requested all pilgrims currently in Saudi Arabia and their families in Indonesia to remain calm and not panic.

“We continue to coordinate with Saudi Arabia, airlines, and pilgrim service operators (PPIU) so that pilgrims whose return is delayed can be accommodated in hotels and other safe and appropriate facilities,” said Dahnil.

The Government has also urged the public not to be easily influenced by unverified information. All parties have been asked to refer to official government sources to avoid information confusion that could cause unrest.

Regarding the implementation of the 1447 H/2026 M hajj season, the Government has confirmed that as of now there has been no impact on ongoing preparations. All stages of planning and coordination continue to proceed according to schedule.

Dahnil emphasised that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is committed to continuing to provide up-to-date information and ensuring maximum protection for all pilgrims.

“We hope conditions normalise soon and all parties exercise restraint. The Government will continue to monitor developments and take necessary steps for the safety and comfort of pilgrims,” he added.
