The government, through the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, continues to monitor the latest conditions of Umrah worship implementation in line with developments in the security situation in the Middle East region.

Director General of Hajj and Umrah Organiser Development, Puji Raharjo, emphasised the importance of compliance with applicable procedures and regulations by all Umrah Worship Travel Organisers (PPIU).

This is crucial to minimise risks and ensure a quick and appropriate response if emergency conditions or changes in the situation occur.

“We remind all parties, especially PPIU, to always comply with the established rules. Discipline in implementing procedures is the main key in maintaining the safety of pilgrims, especially in the midst of the current dynamic situation,” said Puji Raharjo, quoted from an official statement on Monday (30/3).

In the monitoring series, the team directly reviewed several vital locations, from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to visiting Umrah pilgrims being treated at King Abdulaziz Hospital, Mecca.

In addition, the team also checked pilgrims who potentially face stranding in the accommodation area of Misfalah, Mecca, to ensure that accommodation and services continue to run optimally according to standards.

The government also requests that PPIU always coordinate intensively with government representatives in Saudi Arabia. This step is taken so that every obstacle or urgent need from pilgrims can be immediately followed up without hindrance.

To date, the condition of Indonesian pilgrims is reported to be safe and under control. The government continues to strive to provide the best services and guarantee the smooth running of worship as well as maximum protection for all citizens in the Holy Land.

In addition, the government ensures that all pilgrims can return to the homeland in accordance with the 10 mitigation steps that have been agreed upon together across ministries and PPIU at the beginning of March.
