Government Urged to Sustain Economic Growth Amid Geopolitical Challenges
JAKARTA — Governor of the National Resilience Institute of the Republic of Indonesia, Ace Hasan Syadzily, urged the government to maintain national economic growth amid increasingly uncertain global geopolitical conditions.
He made the statement while opening the National Leadership Strengthening Education Seminar (P3N) Batch 27 in Jakarta on Tuesday 26 May 2026.
“We must continue to ensure this positive growth trend is sustained and enhanced in the coming years,” Ace said, according to a press release on Wednesday 27 May 2026.
He noted that this achievement places Indonesia among the highest-growth economies in the G20 group.
During the forum, Ace referred to the economic growth targets previously outlined by President Prabowo Subianto in his macroeconomic and fiscal policy introduction speech to the House of Representatives on 20 May 2026.
He stated that achieving these targets would not be easy without mitigation strategies to address global geopolitical impacts and international financial market volatility.
Therefore, the government is urged to strengthen coordination of fiscal, monetary, and financial sector policies.
He also emphasised the importance of a more conducive investment climate to safeguard capital flows and domestic economic activity.
The seminar, themed “Accelerating Economic Growth to Enhance National Resilience Amid Global Geopolitical Dynamics”, featured several officials and economists, including Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo, Deposit Insurance Agency Chairman Anggito Abimanyu, and Deputy Minister for Investment and Downstreaming and Deputy Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Todotua Pasaribu.
