Government to Strengthen Digital Learning in 3T Regions by 2026

The government will strengthen the digitalisation of learning in frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged (3T) regions by 2026, after the programme reached 288,837 educational units across Indonesia in 2025. Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) RI, Muhammad Qodari, said the strengthening will be carried out by increasing support for electricity and internet infrastructure, so that the benefits of digital learning can be distributed more evenly.

“This programme has reached hundreds of thousands of educational units throughout Indonesia,” Qodari said during a press conference on the Best Quick Results Programme (PHTC) at the Bakom RI Office in Jakarta on Thursday.

Based on data from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, in 2025, 288,837 educational units received Interactive Digital Boards (PID) along with supporting devices, such as laptops and external hard disks. In the 3T regions, the programme has reached 13,838 schools at various levels.

Qodari explained that the government will continue procuring PIDs in 2026, while strengthening school mentoring and developing digital learning content so that the distributed devices can be utilised optimally. He noted that the government still faces several challenges, including limited electricity supply, internet connectivity, geographical access, and human resource readiness, particularly in the 3T regions.
