Government to Soon Establish Task Force for Indonesia Financial Center
JAKARTA - Investment Minister and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM, as well as CEO of Danantara, Rosan Roeslani, stated that the government will soon establish a task force (satgas) and an authority body for the Indonesia Financial Center (IFC). The IFC is Indonesia’s international financial centre, which is planned to be built in Bali. This project aims to position Indonesia as a regional financial hub, attract global investment, and improve the efficiency of the national financial sector. Rosan explained that this information was directly conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto. According to Rosan, the process of forming this authority body will be expedited. “This was just conveyed by the Coordinating Minister that it will be formed as soon as possible,” Rosan said at the Ministry of Finance office on Tuesday (29/4). Nevertheless, Rosan stated that there is currently no definitive option regarding the regulations that will govern the development of the IFC area. According to him, the framework and scheme for the IFC will only enter the stage of in-depth study by the task force to be formed by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy in the near future.
