Government to Revoke Contracts for Idle State Asset Management

The Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg) will revoke cooperation contracts for the management of state assets that are idle, as part of an effort to optimise their use.

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the ministry is currently reviewing various cooperation contracts, including those under the management of the Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Centre (PPK GBK) and PPK Kemayoran.

“We are reviewing the cooperation contracts one by one to then carry out renegotiations in order to optimise the utilisation and results of these assets,” Prasetyo said during a working meeting with Commission XIII of the House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He explained that the review results would be clustered into contracts that can be renegotiated and those that cannot. The latter category includes management rights that have been granted but have seen no activity whatsoever to date.

“We have decided, and we ask for the support of the leadership and members of Commission XIII, that for the cluster of contracts where we have granted management rights but they have not carried out any activities, we will revoke those contracts,” he stated.

Prasetyo stressed that the step was necessary because state assets must be managed productively. “We consider that the management rights have been given but are not being executed properly. These are state assets that should be productive,” he said.
