Government to launch palm oil information system in September

The government, through the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, is preparing the kick-off of the Indonesia Sustainable Palm Oil Information System (SI-ISPO) on 3-4 September 2026 to integrate the certification and traceability processes for palm oil products.

Mochammad Edy Yusuf, Assistant Deputy for SOE Business Development in the Manufacturing, Agro, Pharmaceutical, and Health Industries at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, said the system is expected to improve the Indonesia Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certification process through integrated data management.

“On 3 and 4 September we will carry out the SI-ISPO kick-off,” Edy said at the Regional Learning Forum on Sustainable Commodities in Jakarta on Friday.

According to Edy, PT Sucofindo will be the SI-ISPO operator and will work together with the Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) as the institution managing the system.

“The aim is to increase transparency and accountability in the ISPO certification process,” he said.

Based on the ministry’s presentation, SI-ISPO services include initial ISPO application and re-certification, verification of certificate data along with supporting documents from business actors, and issuance of transaction sheets for ISPO-certified products.

The system is also designed to link certification data with traceability information, geolocation, transaction type and volume, as well as information required by buyers or importers.
