TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Postal and Telecommunication Director General Basuki Yusuf Iskandar said the government will give frequency incentives for operators willing to build up the telecommunication industry in isolated areas. The incentive includes the spectrum scheme of worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX). WiMAX is broadband wireless access.
“We will see whether the incentives will be a WiMAX frequency with 2.1 gigahertz or 2.3 gigahertz,” said Basuki last Wednesday. He explained the incentive is a breakthrough policy for operators to bring to life communications in rural areas.
