Government to Execute Eviction of Hotel Sultan on 18 June 2026

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Central Jakarta District Court has set Thursday, 18 June 2026, as the date for the execution of the eviction of Block 15 in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, formerly known as Hotel Sultan. This marks the final stage of a lengthy legal process to safeguard state assets in the area.

Kharis Sucipto, legal counsel for the State Secretariat and the Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Center (PPKGBK), stated that the eviction execution date is a final ruling that must be respected by all parties.

“This is a final ruling. The Central Jakarta District Court has set 18 June 2026 as the date for the eviction execution of Block 15 GBK, formerly Hotel Sultan. Therefore, we urge all parties to respect and support the execution to ensure it proceeds orderly,” Kharis said, citing an official statement on Thursday (18 June 2026).

Kharis explained that, as per information from the Central Jakarta District Court, a notice of eviction execution dated 19 May 2026, which included the execution date, was sent to PT Indobuildco via registered mail.

Kharis stated that the court’s provided timeframe should allow PT Indobuildco to vacate Block 15 GBK voluntarily. Meanwhile, PPKGBK, as the new manager, has time to prepare for a smooth, safe, and public-interest-respecting handover.

“With nearly a month’s notice, we hope Indobuildco will vacate the premises voluntarily. The court’s letter also urges occupants or anyone granted rights by Indobuildco to occupy the land and buildings to leave voluntarily. This is crucial to prevent new issues during the execution,” Kharis added.

He stressed that the execution date marks the end of a lengthy legal process to reclaim Block 15 GBK state assets. After all legal steps taken by the state, all parties should now comply with the court ruling and return the assets for public management.

“The legal process to reclaim state assets has reached its conclusion. The state has pursued all legal avenues, the court has issued its ruling, and now only execution remains. Therefore, there is no further legal basis to delay the return of these assets,” Kharis said.

PPKGBK’s CEO, Rakhmadi A. Kusumo, respected the eviction execution date. He stated that the return of Block 15 GBK is a key opportunity to ensure state assets are managed professionally, transparently, and benefit the nation.

“We are grateful that these state assets will be professionally managed. The proceeds will return to the state and ultimately serve public interests,” Rakhmadi added.
