Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Pratikno, stated that the government is preparing a task force to improve the governance of child daycare services. “We have agreed to establish a task force for improvements in governance, both in the long term, medium term, and short term, which will soon be formulated,” Pratikno said at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture office in Central Jakarta on Thursday (30/4/2026). In addition, there will be the establishment of a single integrated data portal across ministerial regulations that every daycare must comply with. “So we have already elaborated in detail, and we will soon form a task force to follow up on this,” he added. “Starting from standardisation, licensing, programme integration, integrated information systems, and so on, including field supervision, incentives, and disincentives,” he continued. Pratikno noted that most daycares are managed by private entities. The government, Pratikno continued, actually has no issue with that and even supports public participation in establishing daycares. “So we will ensure that daycares remain a service needed by the community, but the most important thing is to maintain their quality and standards,” he said. If integrated into a single system, the central government will provide assistance for licensing to establish a daycare to prevent similar incidents in the future. “Of course, the government will not tolerate any violence against children. The state is obliged to provide protection to children, to provide upbringing and education as best as possible,” he added.
