Government to Announce Second-Half 2026 Economic Stimulus Package Today, Here Are the Leaks

Jakarta - The government will announce the disbursement of an economic stimulus package for Semester II-2026 today, Monday (22/6/2026). The stimulus package is intended to drive economic growth in the second half of this year. The stimulus will be announced directly by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, alongside Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. The incentive package, in the form of an economic growth stimulus for Semester II-2026, is scheduled to be announced in the afternoon at around 15:30 at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Susiwijono Moegiarso had actually revealed the plan for the economic growth stimulus announcement last Friday (19/6/2026). “Mr Coordinating Minister (Airlangga Hartarto) will deliver the stimulus for the third quarter and beyond on Monday,” said Susiwijono. He stated there are several incentives to be announced by the government, for example in the form of fiscal incentives, food, and transport. Specifically, fiscal incentives and food aid are needed to maintain people’s purchasing power. “The usual ones are regarding fiscal incentives. Food aid is certainly a given. It means to strengthen demand from the demand side. From the supply side, there are several Government-borne VAT (PPN DTP) measures,” he said. Meanwhile, transport discounts will be provided to welcome the end-of-semester school holiday period. “Because the holidays are starting now. Starting the holidays, from the supply side, we are also asking for price reductions for transport discounts. As usual, Mr Coordinating Minister will announce it later,” said Susiwijono.
