Government to Announce ASN WFH Policy Tonight
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) stated that the government will officially announce the work-from-home (WFH) scheme for civil servants (ASN) on Tuesday evening (31/3/2026).
Nevertheless, the General Chairman of the National Mandate Party did not provide detailed explanations regarding the technical aspects of the policy.
He merely asked the public to await the official announcement of the WFH policy by the government.
“Oh, tonight (the WFH policy will be announced). Let’s just wait until tonight, yes. We’ll wait until tonight,” said Zulhas, when met at the National Mandate Party’s Central Executive Board Office in South Jakarta on Tuesday (31/3/2026).
Following up on this, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga also conveyed that the WFH implementation will be carried out for one working day per week.
“One day in five working days,” Airlangga stated after holding a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Thursday (19/3/2026).
At that time, he said that further technical details regarding its implementation are still being finalised by the government.
Airlangga also mentioned that this policy will take effect after Eid al-Fitr 2026, though he did not specify the exact date.
He added that the policy is designed to achieve savings amid the rising global oil prices following the Middle East conflict.
With the WFH system, the mobility of workers using fuel oil will also decrease.
“The savings are quite significant, one-fifth, one-fifth of what we usually spend,” Airlangga said.
