Government tightens budgetary spending to mitigate potential US-Iran conflict impact

The government is taking precautionary measures against potential economic fallout from rising tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran by implementing budgetary efficiency across government spending to ensure the state budget deficit remains below three per cent of GDP.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated on Monday, 16 March, that acting on directives from President Prabowo, several ministries and government agencies are currently identifying areas where spending can be reduced and efficiency improved.
