Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Ahead of the peak Lebaran return flow, predicted to occur in several waves on 24, 25, and 27 March 2026, Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi has urged logistics transport entrepreneurs to comply with the Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) on Traffic Regulation and Crossing during the 2026 Lebaran Transport by the Ministry of Transport, the Indonesian National Police, and the Ministry of Public Works.

Under the SKB, operations of goods transport vehicles with three axles or more are restricted from 13-29 March 2026. This measure is implemented to maintain the smooth flow of the homecoming traffic and the safety of road users.

“Facing the Lebaran return flow predicted to occur in several waves, we call on logistics transport entrepreneurs to continue complying with the operational restrictions on goods transport vehicles. This step is important to maintain smooth traffic flow and the safety of all road users,” said Dudy in Jakarta, quoted on Tuesday (24/3/2026).

He added that compliance with regulations is part of a collective effort to ensure that public mobility during the return flow period runs safely, orderly, and smoothly. In addition, coordination and discipline from all parties are expected to be maintained until the operational restriction period ends.

To that end, the Transport Minister also appreciated the logistics transport entrepreneurs who have complied with the goods vehicle operational restrictions and the Indonesian National Police ranks who have escorted and supervised the implementation of the policy in the field.

“We appreciate the logistics business actors who have demonstrated compliance, as well as the Indonesian National Police ranks who consistently monitor and escort the implementation of this policy in the field. This good synergy is very important to maintain smooth traffic flow and public safety, so that mobility during the return flow can run safely, orderly, and smoothly,” he said.

On the other hand, Dudy urged the public planning return flow journeys to plan their departure times well and avoid times predicted to be peak return flow periods. With more dispersed travel arrangements, it is hoped that traffic density can be minimised and public journeys become more comfortable and safe.

Meanwhile, Jasa Marg President Director Rivan A. Purwantono stated that there are still three-axle trucks passing through toll roads during the restrictions. Therefore, he invited the public to maintain traffic discipline, comply with signs and directions from officers in the field, and prioritise safety during the return flow journey, including the importance of not using the right shoulder during one-way operations.

“The government, together with stakeholders, continues to monitor and evaluate the dynamics of the return flow movement at various transport nodes. We hope the public can follow the directions of officers in the field and utilise official information provided so that journeys can proceed orderly and safely,” Dudy concluded.
