Government Targets Rp 500 Trillion in Foreign Investment for Indonesia's Financial Centre
The Ministry of Finance has set a target for foreign funds expected to flow into the Indonesian International Financial Centre (PFII).
Director General of Financial Sector Stability and Development at the Ministry of Finance, Herman Saheruddin, stated that the government is targeting funds entering the PFII to be around Rp 300 trillion to Rp 500 trillion.
“As an initial overview, we are still estimating. From our calculations, a moderate estimate is around Rp 300 to Rp 500 trillion,” Herman said when met by reporters at the DPR RI building on Wednesday (8/7/2026).
However, this estimate is based on the assumption that the PFII can compete with financial centres in other countries.
“But once again, it all depends on the assumption that we can compete with other financial centres such as Singapore, Dubai, and others,” Herman continued.
He added that this foreign funding is predicted to come in the form of global investment, including the opening of branch offices in Indonesia.
“The form is global investment, meaning the investment comes in, whether they establish a foreign bank branch, or whether they set up an incorporated company there, things like that,” Herman explained.
