“We aim to complete permanent housing by 2027 at the latest; residents should not stay in temporary housing for too long,” Tito said after a meeting with the DPR RI at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, 25 May 2026.

Tito said the government has prepared a master plan to accelerate rehabilitation and reconstruction, comprising 11,512 programmes and activities, including road and bridge construction, schools, and permanent housing for Sumatra disaster victims.

“There are 11,512 activities – roads, bridges, schools, and others – which will be carried out. Priority will be given in 2026 to infrastructure, rivers, roads, and schools, among others,” Tito added.

“Permanent housing is the goal; we hope residents do not remain in temporary housing for too long,” he continued.

He stated that the permanent recovery from the Sumatra disaster is targeted for completion within three years, with an approved budget of Rp 100.166 trillion.

“The total budget we proposed has been approved at the government level and we reported it to the DPR RI Task Force led by Professor Sufmi Dasco Ahmad; thankfully, it has also been supported, amounting to Rp 100.166 trillion over three years,” he added.
