Government Targets Completion of People's School Phase II Construction by June 2026
Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) M Qodari provided updates on the revitalisation of schools and the progress of constructing People’s School Phase II. The government targets the completion of People’s School Phase II construction by June 2026, before the new school year begins.
“The School Revitalisation Programme has been delivered to 16,167 schools in 2025. As of 11 March 2026, 16,062 schools have completed construction, while 105 educational units are still in the process of finalising physical development,” Qodari stated at the beginning of his remarks during a press conference on the PHTC update at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (25/3/2026).
Qodari then outlined the progress and distribution of People’s School Phase II construction. He noted that the construction covers 104 locations spread across Indonesia.
“On Java Island, there are 40 locations, followed by Sumatra with 26 locations, Kalimantan with 12 locations, and Sulawesi with 16 locations. Meanwhile, Bali and Nusa Tenggara cover 3 locations, Maluku Islands 4 locations, and Papua 3 locations,” he said.
Qodari stated that the People’s School Phase II construction programme has about 90 calendar days (HK) remaining for implementation. The completion target, he added, is 20 June 2026.
“Or about 12 weeks from 23 March 2025 to the completion target on 20 June 2026,” he said.
