Government Supports Development of Creative Economy Based on Local Potential
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency supports efforts to develop a creative economy based on local potential with global competitiveness.
Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya, at the launch of the Gedung Aneuk Muda Aceh Unggul Hebat (AMANAH) Creative Hub in Aceh Besar on Thursday (23/4), highlighted the importance of facilities like the AMANAH Creative Hub in advancing the creative economy in the region.
According to a ministry press release in Jakarta on Saturday, the AMANAH Creative Hub provides space for developing creative businesses such as fashion, crafts, culinary, and technology.
“The Ministry of Creative Economy is ready to collaborate with all parties to activate this creative hub by curating tenants together, assisting with IP commercialisation, scaling up access to funding and promotion, so that local Acehnese brands go national and national champions go global,” said the Creative Economy Minister.
AMANAH is expected to serve as a centre for developing young talent, incubating creative businesses, collaboration spaces, and developing Aceh’s flagship creative products.
He stated that developing creative economy businesses requires not only capital but also readiness of actors, effective management, and strong collaboration.
“Aceh’s great potential must be optimally managed by the younger generation so that it can develop rapidly and not be exploited by outsiders,” he said.
The Creative Economy Minister conveyed that every subsector of the creative economy plays a crucial role in providing quality jobs and supporting economic growth.
“The creative economy in the regions can absorb labour and reduce poverty and unemployment,” he said.
“The creative economy subsector workforce has reached 27.4 million, with 50 percent consisting of Gen Z and millennials,” he added.
