Government Submits 21 Names for Central Information Commission to House of Representatives

The government has submitted 21 names of candidates for the Central Information Commission (KIP) to the House of Representatives (DPR) to ensure the continuity of public information transparency in Indonesia. The names were submitted by President Prabowo Subianto to the DPR after the candidates underwent the recruitment selection process for the 2026–2030 term.

“We ensure that the 21 names submitted by President Prabowo Subianto to the DPR are the best candidates who possess capacity in the field of public information transparency,” said Fifi Aleyda Yahya, Chair of the Recruitment Selection Committee for KIP Candidates for the 2026–2030 period, in a confirmed statement on Thursday.

Furthermore, the government is opening space for the public to provide feedback regarding the names of the KIP candidates.

“We have conducted the entire selection process rigorously, from registration, administrative selection, paper writing selection, psychological assessment, receiving public input on track records, to interview selection,” said Fifi.

Parliament is scheduled to conduct a fit and proper test for the 21 candidates before selecting seven of them as KIP members for the 2026–2030 period. The seven names that pass the test will then be officially appointed by President Prabowo Subianto.

“We express our appreciation to the DPR for requesting public input on the KIP candidates and announcing the schedule for the fit and proper test for the 21 candidates. This step demonstrates a strong spirit of collaboration between the executive and legislative branches in strengthening the KIP institution as the spearhead for implementing the Public Information Transparency Law,” Fifi concluded her statement.
