Government strengthens STEM talent through Unggul Garuda High School programme

Indonesia is currently still short of talent in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), with the proportion still below 20 percent, far behind developed countries which have already reached 30 to 40 percent. Director of Transformative Learning Strategy and Systems at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Ardi Findyartini, explained in Jakarta on Monday (22/6) that to spur the creation of STEM talent, the government is now focusing on developing the SMA Unggul Garuda programme.
