Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani stated that the government is continuously strengthening the licensing system through the Online Single Submission (OSS) to suppress uncertainty and encourage investment.

“Indeed, what we are trying to reduce now is the factor of uncertainty. This uncertainty factor is something we are always trying to improve at every level,” said Rosan during a Working Meeting with Commission XII of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Monday.

He explained that the OSS system had experienced obstacles in the last few months. According to Rosan, these obstacles occurred alongside efforts to enhance the OSS system through full integration with 18 ministries and agencies following the implementation of Government Regulation Number 28.

However, he continued, budget support for strengthening the OSS system has now been approved and is entering the disbursement stage.

Rosan said that strengthening OSS is expected to accelerate the licensing process while reducing face-to-face meetings that could potentially add to uncertainty.

He added that the new OSS system will also utilise technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain.

“This new system will certainly use AI, blockchain, and others, and it will be able to start running this year,” Rosan stated.
