Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government is still reviewing the possibility of adjusting the prices of non-subsidised fuel oil (BBM). Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto stated that the results of the review will be conveyed to the public once the process is completed. “It is still under review. So, once the review is finished, it will certainly be announced to the public,” said Airlangga during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday. Meanwhile, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa assured that subsidised fuel prices will not increase until the end of 2026. Through various budget efficiency measures, the government will be able to maintain the deficit at around 2.9 per cent. The Finance Minister also confirmed that the state budget is still sufficient to support the policy. In fact, the government still has a fiscal buffer in the form of a budget surplus (SAL) of around Rp420 trillion that can be used if additional pressures arise. He urged the public not to worry about the government’s fiscal condition, emphasising that the budget capacity is still adequate to bear the various consequences of the policies taken.
