Government Still Formulating ASN Recruitment for 2026

Jakarta – Minister Secretary of State (Mensesneg), Prasetyo Hadi, stated that the government is currently finalising plans for the recruitment of Civil Servants (ASN) in 2026. He noted that the recruitment plan is still being formulated by the relevant ministries. This finalisation also includes calculating the number of ASN needed at both central and regional government levels. “Not yet (can be confirmed). We are finalising it, we are formulating it,” Prasetyo told reporters, quoted on Wednesday, 18 March 2026. Prasetyo explained that almost all ministries have submitted their staffing needs for the ASN recruitment. However, he said that the exact formation numbers cannot yet be announced. This is because the government must first consider the state’s fiscal capacity. “In general, almost all the ministers present earlier have submitted their needs. But on this afternoon’s occasion, we cannot yet provide detailed figures because the discussion then developed,” he explained. “There might be priorities that must be fulfilled first because, after all, we must also consider our fiscal capacity. For example, like that,” he added.
