Government Still Formulating 2026 Civil Service Recruitment Plan
JAKARTA — The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi stated that the government is still finalising plans for recruiting State Civil Apparatus (ASN) personnel for 2026. The plan is currently being formulated by relevant ministries.
“It’s not yet confirmed. We are still finalising and formulating it,” said Prasetyo following a coordination meeting on implementing President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programmes at the Defence Ministry on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
Prasetyo explained that the finalisation process includes calculating ASN requirements across central government, including ministries and agencies, as well as local government bodies.
“There are requirements from each ministry, and the Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform has already sent letters to all ministries, agencies, and local governments to conduct a kind of mapping,” said Prasetyo.
“Although separately, we at the centre are also conducting a mapping of all existing ASN personnel. So, we are trying to find the convergence point when discussing numbers,” he added.
The government will also consider fiscal capacity before announcing the 2026 ASN recruitment posture.
“However, at this opportunity we cannot yet provide detailed figures because the discussion has developed, perhaps there are certain priorities that must be fulfilled first because in any case we must also consider our fiscal capacity,” Prasetyo said.
