Government states placement of KDKMP managers is still being prepared

The government has stated that it is still preparing the operational procedures and the draft Presidential Regulation (Raperpres) regarding the governance of the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP), while the placement of cooperative managers is also still being finalised.

Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, said that the governance of KDKMP is being detailed to ensure the cooperative’s implementation runs smoothly.

“This has been constructed very in detail; the operational procedures and the draft Presidential Regulation (Perpres) are being prepared, regarding how the governance of KDKMP is carried out in the best possible manner,” Hanif said when met in Jakarta on Thursday.

He noted that the government needs to ensure all KDKMP implementations have adequate procedures before the next stages are carried out.

“Therefore, certainly, everything must still be based on sufficiently good procedures. This is being well-prepared,” he said.

When asked about the timing for the issuance of the Presidential Regulation regarding KDKMP operations, Hanif said the government is continuing discussions.

“Hopefully soon, as meetings are already underway,” he said.

Cooperative Minister Ferry Juliantono previously targeted the placement of KDKMP manager candidates to begin in the first week of August 2026.

Ferry stated that all manager candidates are expected to complete national defence training and management education by early August, after which they will be immediately deployed to the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperatives in various regions.

“So, God willing, by early August, they will have finished their training and we will immediately place them in all Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperatives, coinciding with the completion of the physical construction of warehouses, outlets, and necessary equipment,” Ferry said during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (2/7).

According to Ferry, the placement of managers will be adjusted according to each participant’s home region. At that time, he ensured that the placement process would begin in the first week of August 2026.

“It will be adjusted to their respective home regions. Placement will begin in early August, the first week of August,” he added.
