The Head of the Budget Implementation Guidance Division I at the East Java Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury, Wahidin, stated that his office has disbursed Rp2.84 trillion, or 90.45 per cent of the Rp3.14 trillion ceiling, for the Sekolah Rakyat programme up to 30 June 2026. “Through the State Budget, we support the president’s priority programmes, including Sekolah Rakyat, whose realisation reached Rp2.84 trillion by the end of June,” he said during a press conference in Surabaya on Monday. Wahidin noted that this realisation was accelerated by the government’s commitment to the education sector. Furthermore, the programme has had a tangible impact on job creation, absorbing approximately 91,417 workers, with smooth construction aided by 1,731 military personnel. He revealed that there are 18 priority locations for the construction of Sekolah Rakyat in East Java this year. These 18 locations are divided into four work packages. The first package targets five locations: Sampang Regency, Surabaya City, Gresik Regency, and two sites in Tuban Regency. The second package covers four locations: Nganjuk Regency, Ngawi Regency, Pacitan Regency, and Madiun Regency. The third package targets four locations: Pasuruan Regency, Pasuruan City, Kediri Regency, and Kediri City. The fourth package will encompass the construction of Sekolah Rakyat in five locations: Malang Regency, Blitar Regency, Trenggalek Regency, Banyuwangi Regency, and Jember Regency.
