JAKARTA, investortrust.id - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa showcased the performance of the Debottlenecking Task Force, which has been operational for six months, in front of investors and ambassadors from friendly countries.

As its name suggests, the Debottlenecking Task Force was established to eliminate various investment and business barriers, such as extortion practices, slow permitting processes, overlapping regulations, and legal certainty.

“Out of 142 complaints received through the Debottlenecking Task Force channels, 83 have been discussed transparently. And 45 cases have been successfully resolved,” said Purbaya at the international debottlenecking seminar, held at the Ministry of Finance complex in Jakarta on Tuesday (12/5/2026).

Purbaya revealed that debottlenecking hearings are held every week. These hearings have attracted significant attention. “This increases the transparency of the process and ensures that no party evades decisions that have been made,” he stated.

Purbaya conveyed that ambassadors and business actors need not hesitate to report business obstacles to the Debottlenecking Task Force. Such obstacles will certainly be resolved as quickly as possible.

The government, according to Purbaya, understands the need for a much better investment climate to ensure the private sector makes a significant contribution to national economic growth.

“Without significant participation from the private sector, it is almost impossible to create economic growth above 6%,” he emphasised.

Deputy Foreign Minister Arif Havas Oegroseno stated that debottlenecking is something very crucial for Indonesia. The transparent and open hearings produce clear decisions. As a result, there has been an acceleration of investments amounting to around US$30 billion.

With these open hearings, said Havas, the government wants to demonstrate trust, efficiency, resilience, and strategic positioning. “Speed is now a very important aspect. Legal certainty is certainly a very important factor,” he remarked.

Havas assured that the Debottlenecking Task Force is not just about deregulation. It is more directed towards policies for business actors in Indonesia moving forward.

“We convey to foreign investors that before entering Indonesia, they should first connect with the Indonesian Embassy, consult with them, and seek partners from Indonesia,” he stressed.
