Government Sets Passing Grades for 2026 Official School Competency Test
The Basic Competency Selection (SKD) for official schools is scheduled to commence on 22 September 2026. The government has established the passing grades that must be achieved for each group of test questions.
The passing grade for the National Insight Test (TWK) is set at 65, while the General Intelligence Test (TIU) requires a score of 80. Meanwhile, a minimum score of 156 must be achieved by participants for the Personal Characteristics Test (TKP) group.
The maximum cumulative score for the SKD is 550, broken down as follows: 150 for TWK, 175 for TIU, and 225 for TKP. This determination is stipulated in the Decree of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Number 406 of 2026 regarding the Passing Grades for the Basic Competency Selection for the Admission of Students to Official Schools for the 2026 Fiscal Year.
However, these passing grades are waived for participants from certain regions who receive affirmative action. This affirmative policy was previously proposed by the ministries or agencies organising the official schools.
For the TIU and TWK materials, a correct answer is worth 5 points, while participants will receive 0 points for incorrect or unanswered questions. For the TKP, the lowest weight for an answer is 1 and the highest is 5, with 0 points awarded for no response.
Prospective students must complete 110 questions within 100 minutes. The TWK consists of 30 questions, the TIU contains 35 questions, and the TKP comprises 45 questions. The registration phase concluded at the end of August 2026.
The Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Rini Widyantini, stated that the SKD will continue to utilise the Computer Assisted Test (CAT) system managed by the National Civil Service Agency (BKN).
She also urged all participants to prepare themselves and avoid individuals promising automatic passing in exchange for money. “There will be no loopholes for those attempting to cheat,” Rini asserted in her statement on Wednesday (16/9/2026).
Rini advised participants to undergo the selection stages honestly and according to their own abilities. The grouping of questions is designed to assess the knowledge, tendencies, and mastery of the participants.
Participants’ answers will reflect their knowledge and tendencies regarding nationalistic values, analysis and syllogism, adaptability, and knowledge of anti-radicalism.
“Be professional, ethical participants who are ready to provide the best service to the community,” said Rini.
For information, the government has prepared 4,770 vacancies for civil servant candidates (CPNS) through the official school pathway for 2026. This year, nine agencies have opened formations for the official schools under their supervision.
Following the SKD, each agency will officially announce the results between September and October 2026. Subsequent selection stages will be regulated by each respective organising agency. Detailed selection dates can be accessed via the website https://sscasn.bkn.go.id/.
