Government Sends Logistics and 500 Water Pumps to Disaster-Affected Areas

The government has again sent aid to several disaster-affected areas. On Monday morning, 24 August 2026 at 04.30 WIB, six Indonesian Air Force aircraft were dispatched to carry aid to disaster-affected regions.

Three aircraft headed to East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), with destinations in Labuan Bajo and Maumere, carrying 31 tonnes of ready-to-eat logistics, including biscuits, wafers, protein bars, bread, various other food supplies, and toys for children.

Meanwhile, three other aircraft headed to Kalimantan, to Pontianak, Palangkaraya, and Banjarmasin respectively. These aircraft carried 500 water pump units, part of 2,000 water pumps to be sent in stages according to instructions from President Prabowo Subianto and requests from governors in Kalimantan.

Each pump is equipped with a 1-kilometre hose or pipe to support firefighting efforts, particularly in peatland areas.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said that President Prabowo’s directive is very clear: handling must be carried out quickly and in an integrated manner, and every element must ensure that logistical aid truly reaches and is received by the communities in need.

The aid delivery is part of the government’s efforts to ensure that the needs of disaster-affected communities can be met promptly, while also supporting firefighting efforts in several areas of Kalimantan.

With the phased delivery, the government is preparing a total of 2,000 water pump units in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive and the needs conveyed by governors in Kalimantan.
