Jakarta – Bulog has recorded government rice stock (stok beras pemerintah) up to 18 May 2026 at 5.3 million tonnes, making it one of the government’s largest reserves in recent years. Bulog’s Chief Executive Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said the total capacity of Bulog’s rice warehouses stands at 6.1 million tonnes, with about 806,765 tonnes of storage space still available. ‘As of 18 May 2026, Bulog’s rice stock allocation reaches 5.3 million tonnes. The total warehouse capacity for Bulog’s rice is 6.1 million tonnes and the remaining available capacity is around 806,765 tonnes,’ Rizal told a meeting with Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Parliament Building on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. The technology is used to maintain rice quality during storage. ‘To safeguard quality and grade, we are collaborating with BRIN via AEET technology,’ he said. Bulog also proposes additional rice distribution through general and special markets, considering the high level of national rice stock. For the general market, Bulog proposes distribution of around 4.3 million tonnes of rice, including needs for civil servants (ASN), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian Police (Polri) totaling 2.8 million tonnes per year. The distribution would use government rice reserves (CBP) in kind. ‘For the general market, the proposed annual fulfillment of around 2.8 million tonnes for ASN, TNI and Polri uses CBP rice in kind. Then for the needs of BGN as a raw material MBG around 1.5 million tonnes per year,’ Rizal said.
