The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) has officially reallocated Excess Budget Balance (SAL) funds to the State-Owned Bank Association (Himbara) amounting to Rp281 trillion until the end of 2026.

These funds were previously withdrawn by the Ministry of Finance in June 2026, amounting to Rp110 trillion. They have now been returned to Bank Indonesia (BI) in alignment with monetary tightening policies following the rise in benchmark interest rates.

“From the initial Rp281 trillion, Rp110 trillion was withdrawn. This Rp110 trillion is being returned, so it remains at Rp281 trillion,” stated Deputy Finance Minister Juda Agung during a press conference at the DPR/MPR Building, Jakarta, on Monday (29/06/2026).

This policy shift follows reports from the banking sector regarding liquidity shortages in recent periods. Meanwhile, credit demand has been increasing, necessitating full support from both the government and Bank Indonesia.

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), Sufmi Dasco, convened the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, and other relevant stakeholders today to ensure synergy between fiscal and monetary policies at the DPR/MPR Building, Jakarta.

In addition to the Rp281 trillion, the Ministry of Finance has also prepared an additional Rp100 trillion should the banking sector require further assistance.

“Indeed, the banking sector requires liquidity to disburse credit,” he explained.

As of the end of May, Juda added that credit growth reached 11.5%. The government expects this momentum to continue moving forward.
