Collaboration between the government, industry and associations is the key to ensuring Indonesia is not merely a consumer of technology, but an active player in the global digital ecosystem.

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Economy Coordinating Ministry (Kemenko Bidang Perekonomian) emphasises that digital transformation is a fundamental foundation for achieving Indonesia’s national economic growth target of 8 per cent by 2029.

Deputy for Trade and Digital Economy Coordination at the Economy Coordinating Ministry Ali Murtopo Simbolon, in a statement from Jakarta on Friday, said this accords with Presidential Regulation No. 4 of 2026 on the Economic Growth Acceleration Task Force.

He said the regulation has positioned digital infrastructure including data centres, artificial intelligence (AI), and cyber security as a fundamental pillar to achieve the target.

‘Robust digital infrastructure, namely data centres, AI, and cyber security, are the foundations that will undergird Indonesia’s sustainable economic growth,’ Ali said.

Meanwhile, Director of Artificial Intelligence and New Technology Ecosystem at the Ministry of Communications and Digital (Kominfo) Aju Widia Sari said that strengthening digital connectivity through accelerating data centre construction, developing the AI ecosystem, and enhancing cyber resilience is a strategic pillar for national economic growth.

‘Collaboration between government, industry and associations is the key to ensuring Indonesia is not only a consumer of technology but also an active participant in the global digital ecosystem,’ Aju said.

The enhanced collaboration is being pursued through a National Forum titled ‘Indonesia Digital Leap: Accelerating Data Centre, AI & Cyber Security Ecosystem for National Economic Growth’ held earlier this week.

This exclusive forum brought together more than 200 hand-picked participants from industry leaders, regulators, and policymakers to discuss accelerating the digital infrastructure ecosystem as the foundation to achieving the national growth target.

The event also aimed to disseminate national policy, regulatory roadmaps and investment priorities in data centre infrastructure, AI adoption, and cyber security to a broader industry ecosystem, and to generate concrete industry insights and policy recommendations supporting the cross-sector coordination mandate of the Economy Coordinating Ministry.

The National Forum also marked the soft launch of the DTI Series 2026 (Digital Transformation Indonesia Conference & Expo) and the Cyber Resilience & Defence Conference & Expo (CRD-CX) 2026, to be held on 5-6 August 2026 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), Senayan.

DTI Series 2026 is Indonesia’s largest B2B business platform, set to feature more than 450 technology solutions from 199 companies, over 133 conference sessions with at least 260 speakers, and around 13,000 attendees from various industries.
