Government Records 61.9 Million Recipients of MBG Programme
Jakarta – The Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom), M Qodari, has outlined the achievements of the Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) programme. He stated that the number of MBG recipients has reached 61.9 million people. This figure constitutes 74.8 percent of the total MBG recipients targeted by the government, which is 82.9 million people. “The latest status of the MBG programme implementation based on data from the National Food Agency as of 12 May 2026. The number of recorded beneficiaries reaches 61,991,412 people or 74.8% of the total target of 82.9 million recipients,” said Qodari during a press conference at the Bakom RI office on Wednesday, 13 May 2026. Meanwhile, the number of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) that have become operational reaches 28,390 SPPG. Of this total, 55.42 percent or around 15,795 SPPG have obtained SLHS certificates. The government, according to Qodari, understands that the MBG programme requires continuous refinement. Therefore, the government is open to receiving input from the public regarding the MBG programme. “The government understands that a programme as large as MBG requires continuous refinement. For that reason, every input from various elements of society is a concern for the government,” he said. “The government is committed to continuously improving and strengthening the implementation of the MBG programme through the identification of several governance aspects that require systemic strengthening and serious, accountable programme management oriented towards sustainable improvements,” Qodari concluded.
