The government, through the Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Centre (PPKGBK), has requested PT Indobuildco to vacate the Hotel Sultan voluntarily, with a one-month grace period for the eviction. PT Indobuildco, led by Pontjo Sutowo, son of Ibnu Sutowo, manages the Hotel Sultan, formerly known as Hotel Holton in the GBK area. Kharis Sucipto, legal counsel for the Minister of State and PPKGBK, stated that the Central Jakarta District Court has set the eviction date for Block 15 of GBK, formerly the Hotel Sultan, for Thursday, 18 June 2026. “With nearly a month’s grace period, we hope Indobuildco will voluntarily vacate the property. The court’s notice also urges occupants or anyone granted rights by Indobuildco to reside, occupy, or take possession of the land and buildings to leave voluntarily. This is crucial to prevent new issues during the execution process,” Kharis said, citing an official statement on Tuesday, 26 May 2026. Kharis explained that the execution date is a final decision that must be respected by all parties. The notice was issued in a formal Eviction Execution Notification dated 19 May 2026, which has been sent to PT Indobuildco via registered mail. According to Kharis, the court-granted period should suffice for PT Indobuildco to vacate Block 15 GBK voluntarily. Meanwhile, PPKGBK, as the new manager, also has time to prepare the handover process to ensure it proceeds smoothly, safely, and without disrupting public interests. He stressed that the execution date marks the end of the lengthy legal process to reclaim the state asset in Block 15 GBK. Following various legal steps taken by the state, all parties should now focus on complying with the court’s ruling and returning the asset for public management. “The legal process to reclaim this state asset has reached its conclusion. The state has pursued all legal avenues, the court has issued its ruling, and now only enforcement remains. Therefore, there are no further legal grounds to delay the return of the state asset,” Kharis said.
