The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) is currently examining the sales price formula for non-subsidised fuel oil (BBM) at domestic petrol stations, including for private enterprises. As of Thursday, 16 April 2026, there has been no change in fuel prices at petrol stations across the country.

The Director General of Oil and Gas (Dirjen Migas) of the Ministry of ESDM, Laode Sulaeman, revealed that the government is still calculating the appropriate price structure. This means that no results can yet be announced regarding non-subsidised fuel prices amid the current global geopolitical situation.

“(The non-subsidised fuel price formula) is still under calculation,” he said when met at the DPR RI Building in Jakarta, quoted on Thursday (16/4/2026).

Indeed, the government is striving to ensure that public purchasing power is not disrupted by the continuously fluctuating world oil prices. However, several other countries have already taken measures to raise non-subsidised fuel prices in line with global market movements.

Previously, the Minister of ESDM, Bahlil Lahadalia, stated that the government is still calculating adjustments to non-subsidised fuel oil (BBM) prices. This is particularly in the context of the fluctuating movement of world crude oil prices.

Bahlil revealed that the decision on price adjustments is not yet final and is still in the calculation stage. The results of this evaluation will be announced shortly.

“We will explain it once we have made the adjustment, it’s an exercise, yes. The exercise is almost done. Next week,” Bahlil said when met at the Ministry of ESDM on Friday (10/4/2026).

In addition, he assured that the national energy stock situation is safe. The national fuel reserves are currently above the minimum threshold, namely more than 20 days. Meanwhile, LPG stocks are also maintained above 10 days.

“So actually, I want to convey that our critical period regarding global dynamics for BBM, Alhamdulillah, we have passed. But of course, I ask all the public to be wise and prudent in using BBM, including LPG,” he said.
