The government is preparing a new credit programme scheme specifically aimed at women micro-entrepreneurs. Spokesperson for the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Haryo Limanseto, stated that this new credit scheme will complement the four existing credit programmes currently running. The four existing programmes are Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR), Kredit Usaha Alsintan, Kredit Industri Padat Karya (KIPK), and Kredit Program Perumahan (KPP).

“So that mothers who want to do business, who are currently doing business, and who have previously and will return to business can obtain much more affordable financing,” Haryo said through a press release on Wednesday (1/7/2026). Through this credit programme for women micro-entrepreneurs, the government is lowering the financing interest rate to 8% flat per annum. Initially, this scheme existed under PNM Mekaar financing with interest rates ranging from 18-25%. “Through the Credit Programme for women micro-entrepreneurs, the Government is lowering the interest rate to 8% (flat) per year,” he said.

The financing ceiling is up to Rp15 million per debtor with a tenor of 6 to 24 months. To support its implementation, the Government is preparing various supporting regulations and fiscal support in the form of interest rate subsidies/margin subsidies amounting to Rp2.62 trillion for 2026.

On that occasion, Haryo also revealed the realisation of the ongoing credit programmes to date. As of 28 June 2026, the realisation of Credit Programme distribution had reached Rp167.97 trillion, or approximately 49.20% of the 2026 target of Rp341.39 trillion. This achievement was supported by the positive performance of KUR, which reached Rp147.70 trillion to 2.32 million debtors with a non-performing loan (NPL) ratio maintained at 2.39%. This distribution is equivalent to 50.83% of the 2026 KUR ceiling target. Meanwhile, for other credit programmes, the realisation of Kredit Alsintan was Rp71.10 billion, Kredit Industri Padat Karya (KIPK) was Rp91.93 billion, and Kredit Program Perumahan (KPP) was Rp17.74 trillion.
