The return of Bank NTB Syariah is expected to expand financing access for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) while strengthening the regional economy. Acting Deputy for Micro Enterprises at the Ministry of MSMEs, Riza Damanik, stated in Jakarta on Saturday that Bank NTB Syariah will become the 43rd national distributor of the People’s Business Credit (KUR) programme in 2026. “The return of Bank NTB Syariah is expected to expand financing access for MSMEs while strengthening the regional economy,” Riza said. Bank NTB Syariah’s reinstatement as a KUR distributor was marked by the signing of a KUR Financing Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of MSMEs and Bank NTB Syariah in Mataram on Friday (19/6). According to him, expanding financing access is an important step to encourage MSME growth and strengthen productive sectors in the regions. The government, he continued, is directing KUR distribution towards sectors that have a significant impact on job creation and increasing economic added value, such as agriculture, livestock, fisheries, plantations, food processing industries, and the creative industry. “When financing enters the production sector, jobs will increase and the economic added value generated by the region will also grow,” he said. Riza assessed that financing is one of the important pillars in the MSME empowerment ecosystem. However, access to capital needs to be supported by various other aspects such as business legality, mentoring, digitalisation, market access, and strengthening business partnerships. On the same occasion, President Director of Bank NTB Syariah Nazaruddin expressed appreciation for the government’s trust in reappointing Bank NTB Syariah as a KUR distributor. In 2026, Bank NTB Syariah received a KUR allocation of Rp40 billion, consisting of Rp30 billion for MSME financing and Rp10 billion for financing Indonesian Migrant Workers. “We want this financing to truly drive the growth of productive sectors and help MSME entrepreneurs develop sustainably,” said Nazaruddin.
