Government Re-examines Infrastructure Project

| Source: TEMPO
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Government is reexamining all infrastructure project plans after global investment dropped. Deputy for Coordinating Minister for the Economy for Infrastructure and Area Development Division, Bambang Susantono, said the government will prioritize projects that are bankable and commercial.

He explained that the government will keep on prioritizing them during the crisis. “It is expected that this decision will attract investors,” he said yesterday.

Bambang said the government will also investigate projects that have been started like electricity power plants and toll roads.

Bambang said that infrastructure development in Indonesia is behind other countries. Although Indonesia is still considered as an interesting place for investors, low budgets have caused this infrastructure project to be delayed.
