Indonesia’s government has raised Rp305.5 trillion in debt financing as of 30 April 2026. In the APBN KiTa May 2026 press briefing, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said the amount equates to 36.7 percent of the APBN’s Rp832.2 trillion target. ‘This debt financing is on track and measured,’ he said at the Ministry of Finance in Jakarta on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. He added that the realisation of debt financing was Rp7 trillion, or 4.9 percent of the APBN target of Rp143.1 trillion. Accordingly, total APBN financing by the end of April 2026 stood at Rp298.5 trillion, or 43.3 percent of the APBN’s Rp689.1 trillion target. He confirmed that budget financing performance remained on track in line with the APBN design, supporting credible and accountable fiscal management. The APBN financing for 2026 overall is managed prudently and measurably, taking into account government liquidity, optimal cash position, and dynamics of financial markets. It is noted that the APBN deficit narrowed to 0.64 percent of GDP, or Rp164.4 trillion, as of 30 April 2026. State revenues grew 13.3 percent to Rp918.4 trillion, or 29.1 percent of the APBN target of Rp3,153.6 trillion. On the other hand, state expenditure grew significantly by 34.3 percent to Rp1,082.8 trillion, or 28.2 percent of the APBN target of Rp3,842.7 trillion. Meanwhile, the primary balance swung into surplus after previously recording a deficit, at Rp28 trillion. This indicates the fiscal position remains adequate to manage revenue, expenditure and debt. Purbaya stated that the deficit and primary balance performance as of April 2026 improved compared with the performance through March.
