Government Pushes Posyandu Transformation Through Six Basic Service Standards
The Chairperson of the Posyandu Development Team, Tri Tito Karnavian, has emphasised the importance of accelerating the implementation of Posyandu through six fields of Minimum Service Standards (SPM). She stated that this effort would strengthen community development while ensuring that government support is precisely targeted, allowing the public to directly benefit from Posyandu services.
According to Tri, the government has transformed the function of Posyandu from solely focusing on health to becoming a village and sub-district community institution. This transformation targets development and services that support the implementation of six SPM fields: education; health; public works; public housing; public order, peace, and community protection (Trantibumlinmas); and social affairs.
A written statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs noted that the Posyandu transformation is regulated under Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 13 of 2024. This policy aligns with the national development direction outlined in Presidential Regulation Number 12 of 2025 concerning the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) for 2025-2029, which emphasises strengthening integrated basic services.
“Posyandu is part of the indication for intervention in priority activities for fulfilling basic services and village infrastructure within the national priority, especially Asta Cita number 6,” Tri Tito said during a working visit on the Implementation of the 6-Field SPM Posyandu in 2026 at Posyandu Babangan Lembang Lea, Tana Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi, on Monday (6/7).
Tri added that as part of the institutional arrangement of Posyandu, the Ministry of Home Affairs has established a policy for issuing nationally applicable Posyandu registration numbers. Based on data from the Directorate General of Village Governance at the Ministry of Home Affairs as of June 2026, a total of 13,164 Posyandu across 22 provinces and 82 regencies/cities have received registration numbers. Specifically in South Sulawesi Province, Tana Toraja Regency has registered 115 Posyandu.
This registration is not only part of institutional structuring but also serves as a basis for the government to map the needs of each Posyandu. Through this effort, development, intervention, and support can be delivered more effectively and precisely.
“We are currently compiling what is needed by Posyandu for these 6 SPMs. Hopefully, we will obtain the necessary development data,” Tri stated. She expressed hope that synergy between the central government, regional governments, Posyandu Development Teams, and all Posyandu cadres will continue to be strengthened so that the implementation of the 6-Field SPM Posyandu can run optimally. The government will continue to provide support based on the needs and priorities of each region as a follow-up to the data collection and registration results. Tri also appreciated the registration achievements in Tana Toraja Regency, noting that it demonstrates the regional government’s commitment to supporting the Posyandu transformation.
