The government is also applying work from home (WFH) or working from home for private sector employees. WFH for private sector employees will be adjusted to the characteristics and needs of each business sector.

“The implementation of work from home for the private sector will be further regulated in the Circular of the Minister of Manpower,” said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto during a press conference on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

Airlangga stated that the WFH schedule will begin from 1 April and will vary by business sector. The policy follows the characteristics and needs of each business sector.

“While still considering the characteristics and needs of each business sector,” he said.

Airlangga also mentioned that the Manpower Minister will regulate energy efficiency in the workplace. “The regulation through the Circular of the Minister of Manpower also covers the movement for efficient energy use in the workplace,” he added.

As is known, the government has set a work-from-home policy or WFH for one day per week. That one day of WFH will apply every Friday.

“The implementation of work from home for civil servants (ASN) in central and regional agencies, carried out for one working day per week, namely every Friday,” said Airlangga.
