Government Prepares Rp 100.2 Trillion for Post-Disaster Recovery in Sumatra
The government is preparing the Master Plan for Accelerating Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRRP) for the regions of Aceh and Sumatra, with a budget requirement of Rp 100.2 trillion.
This funding will be met through the Additional Budget Mechanism (ABT) in 2026, as well as the Government Work Plan (RKP) and Draft State Budget (RAPBN) in 2027 and 2028.
“In this plan, the total budget requirement for recovering disaster-affected areas reaches Rp 100.2 trillion over a three-year implementation period from 2026 to 2028,” said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Pratikno, after leading a meeting on accelerating rehabilitation and reconstruction on Monday (6/4/2026).
Following this, the PRRP will be reviewed again by the Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (Satgas PRR).
“The legal product of this master plan will subsequently be submitted in the form of a Presidential Regulation (Perpres). It is currently in the finalisation process and will then be submitted by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas to be established as the basis for budgeting,” Pratikno stated.
Therefore, as Chair of the Satgas PRR Advisory Team, he urged the Task Force, along with relevant ministries and institutions, to determine the priority programmes to be implemented in 2026.
“After a re-review involving the Task Force, Bappenas, and relevant Ministries/Institutions, including BNPB, the programme allocations must be promptly determined. Once again, speed is crucial in disaster management,” he said.
According to the plan, the handling will enter the rehabilitation and reconstruction phase in April 2026.
Recovery efforts for affected areas will focus on five main sectors: settlements, infrastructure, economy, social, and cross-sectoral.
Over the three-year period, the recovery programme is planned to cover 12,047 activities with a total budget of Rp 100.2 trillion.
