Government Prepares Regulation on Export Earnings Foreign Exchange Policy Through PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia
Jakarta, Kompas.com - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto reported the readiness to implement the export earnings foreign exchange (DHE) policy to President Prabowo Subianto. ‘Earlier I reported to His Excellency the President about the plan to implement two aspects: the execution of the export earnings foreign exchange that will take place on 1 June,’ Airlangga said after a meeting at the Istana Complex, Jakarta, Thursday (21 May 2026) afternoon.
Airlangga said the implementation of exports of strategic commodities such as crude palm oil (CPO), coal, and ferro alloy will pass through PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI). ‘We reported that various regulatory instruments, both from the Ministry of Trade (Permendag), Bank Indonesia (BI), and the Ministry of Finance will also be prepared and will be completed before 1 June,’ he added.
According to Airlangga, the government will also conduct socialisation to various business associations to ensure a thorough understanding of the new policy. ‘Socialisation to associations will also be conducted this afternoon at 4 pm, so that the associations concerned know the policy that will be created by the government,’ he continued.
Furthermore, Airlangga urged foreign investors to stay calm and trust the government’s direction regarding PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia. ‘First of all, there is no need to worry, because all exports are still carried out by companies in the existing sector,’ Airlangga said. He added that every export will be reported to Danantara. ‘In export, there is direct reporting to Danantara, so in three months we will fine-tune the system,’ he explained.
For information, the government has formed PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia as a state-owned enterprise with a special mandate to manage and supervise transactions of exports of strategic natural resource commodities. The creation of the company was driven by the long-standing practice of under invoicing and transfer pricing in several Indonesian export commodities over the years.
