JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The government is preparing a Master Plan (Renduk) for the Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Post-Sumatra Disaster. Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Pratikno stated that the master plan will subsequently be submitted in the form of a presidential regulation (perpres). “So now it is still in the finalisation process and then submitted by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas to be issued in the form of a Perpres, which will serve as our reference for budgeting,” Pratikno said after a meeting during a press conference at the Ministry of PMK, Jakarta, on Monday (6/4/2026). “And then as soon as possible, it will be allocated because once again, speed is very important in disaster management,” he added. Although the administrations in the three Sumatra provinces are already running functionally, there are still many aspects that need to be addressed. According to Tito Karnavian, who is also the Interior Minister, there are sectors that must be permanently repaired, such as roads and river improvements to make them permanent. It is estimated that this repair process will take at least approximately three years. “So this is the recovery programme for the period, estimated at three years, so Bappenas has prepared the Renduk, the master plan for three years,” said Tito. “But later, on the orders of Mr Coordinating Minister PMK as the Head of the Steering Team, we will review the master plan to determine the important priorities that must be carried out in 2026,” he continued. “Yes, including the earlier issues of huntap, important roads, main roads, basically the very essential basic ones, it is recommended that we complete in 2026,” he said. Furthermore, Tito assured that all parties, both central and regional, are working to rebuild the three Sumatra provinces affected by the flood and landslide disaster. In fact, President Prabowo Subianto has already provided additional funding for Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra for post-disaster recovery. “The President has provided additional TKD for all regencies, cities, and provinces in those three provinces amounting to Rp10.8 trillion. I have issued a circular that its use is for accelerating disaster management,” he stated.
