Jakarta — The Head of the Presidential Staff Office, M. Qodari, announced that the Integrated Schools Programme launching this year will target 500 school units to accelerate improvements in educational quality and equitable distribution of education services across Indonesia.

“The Integrated Schools Programme is targeting 500 schools in 2026,” Qodari stated in his remarks in Jakarta on Monday.

He explained that the programme, coordinated by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), is designed to deliver more integrated education services through better coordinated system management.

“This programme aims to integrate education services to be more effective and capable of accelerating improvements in educational quality whilst expanding equitable access for the public,” Qodari said.

The concept focuses on physical integration, continuous curriculum development, and vocational facilities adapted to regional needs.

Qodari noted that the government is currently preparing the legal foundation in the form of a Presidential Instruction (Inpres) to serve as the basis for programme implementation.

This regulation is expected to provide a policy framework to ensure implementation proceeds in a directed manner and aligns with national education development targets.

Regarding funding, Qodari stated that the government has allocated approximately 60 trillion rupiah through an Extraordinary Budget Mechanism (ABT) to support the Integrated Schools Programme implementation.

He emphasised that programme implementation will be conducted in stages with a centralised policy approach, while adapting to regulatory readiness and field implementation capacity.

“The government ensures that policy direction remains consistent with national targets to strengthen education governance and deliver a more integrated education system,” he said.

Through this programme, the government hopes that education governance transformation will proceed more effectively so that national education quality improves and adequate educational access can be realised more equitably across various regions.
